It was 7 degrees this morning and forcast to be 0 tomorrow. I have a frozen pipe and an awaiting the plumber.

I bought my 2002 X5 used and have had to put money into electronics including the anti-lock brake system. Mine has the manual gear box and is a joy to drive...I can't think of another car that performs like this one on the road that can also make it down dirt river access trails and carry assembled 9' rods straight down the middle.

Did you get the -30 degree weather we had last week?

We had wind chills approaching -50 a couple of days last week.

Wow I would never go outside this was our temp today we suffer April thru October with sweltering heat though it was 35 this morning and possibly the teens Sunday our fish kill is gonna be bad.

Throw a come along in the back. I used to work with a driller in Nevada that used a 1976 2wd 3/4 ton in the outback, I don't believe I ever saw him stuck .

Actually when I first started in geology the company gave me 1976 2wd F150 rental that managed to get most places. Of course the rental agency never leased us equipment again.

Found a much better camper shell for the Tacoma. Should be set up for some overnighters in the spring. The fella that had the truck before me was a fish nut too, and he built a bed frame for the back that fits all your gear underneath.

I found some rod mount for the deck rails too that I may order to try out. Could fit three rods rigged and split in half along each side. I’d like something to hang them from the ceiling if possible, that’s what I’ve always done in the 4Runner and the old Highlander we had before that.

Not sure where you got that info but it is incorrect. Ford Explorers earned the nickname "Ford Exploder" because of the factory provided Firestone tires blowing out abruptly which caused a high rate of rollover crashes. It was the subject of a number of lawsuits and a recall on those tires. This happened on vehicles built in the late 1990's and early 2000's. A second round of problems occurred in models from 2002–2006, which had a poor reputation for transmission, engine, and transfer case failures. The model years 2007 through 2012 are considered a reliable vehicle by many in the automotive industry.

I had a 1997 explorer I bought in 1999 (came off a lease) and kept it 13 years give or take. It was a fine vehicle, mechanically it never gave me trouble. The body finally rusted out as do most New England vehicles after a while.
